THERMAL IMAGING

WHAT IS THERMAL IMAGING?

Thermal Imaging is when an infrared (thermal) camera is used to locate issues within and outside of a home that may be difficult or impossibly to see without its technology.

Our home inspectors are trained to use these cameras and understand what issues may be present based on what is seen through the camera.

Infrared thermography (IRT) is the science used to capture and process thermal information using non-contact measurement tools. This is done by analyzing infrared (IR) radiation emitted from an object whose temperature is above absolute zero. Because this wavelength exists outside of the visible spectrum of light, infrared measuring devices are required to capture and process this information.

ISSUES THAT MAY BE REVEALED

  • Water penetration into roofs and ceiling surfaces

  • Moisture build-up in building materials

  • Detection of missing or insufficient insulation

  • Electrical issues at points like breaker boxes, outlets, and switches

  • Detect plumbing & piping and their proper/improper installation

  • Impact on energy efficiency

  • Defects with the HVAC system

Our Thermal Imaging camera reveals an issue with million-dollar home!
